OK... let me start by saying I just got through writing a great rant... and lost it because the fucking network here sucks! You would figure that NASA would actually have some backup network connections just in case one goes down, but apparently that's too much to ask.
now onto my original post... or at least what I can remember of it.
I truly believe that everyone who works in any form of customer service should have to watch
Clerks at least once, if not multiple times through their career.
I have had my fill of stupid people. I'm not talking about the people who just don't understand something.. those are easy to deal with. I'm talking about the truly fucking stupid people. Like those customers who wait until 4pm on Friday night to call in a problem with their computer that they need fixed before the weekend, and you find out that
they've had the problem for a fucking week! If you know that you have a problem that you need fixed, don't wait until the last fucking moment to try and get it fixed. And then don't bitch because I can't magically fix your system in the last few minutes of the day before you leave.
And another thing... when you support over 6000 people, you should not know a single one of them by the sound of their voice. Then you get one of these stupid fucks calling in for the 500th time in a month about the same fucking problem and they say something stupid like "How can we get this fixed" and you want to be honest and say
"get you to quit, because you're the fucking problem, not the computer!"
Overall I enjoy my job, and even the customers. I don't mind the people who have real issues or just don't know what their doing... they are at least willing to work with you to fix the issue. It the ones that think they know everything and want to blame the computer for all their problems. If they would stop fucking around with settings and such when they don't' know what they're doing they wouldn't have so many problems.
I truly believe that the comedian
Bill Engvall has got a great idea, all stupid people should have a sign. At least then you would know what to expect before you started. It sure would save a lot of time....
