What to write about....

I don't know why it is such a problem for me to come up with things to write about. I don't lead that interesting of a life overall, and most of my day to day things are pretty mundane. Between work, wife, kids, church, sleep, and all the time spent in the bathroom (it's a joke people ;), I don't have much time for anything else. ...... but I have to have something to write about, so tonight I decided to just start typing... let's see how it goes.

Yes you heard right... church is a big part of my life, I guess this is a good place to start. For a multitude of reason I have started going to church (All Saint's Church in Santa Clarita for those who are curious). I have also been spending a lot of time with the Rector of the Church, Father Rich. Wow... where to start, there is a lot to say here. I guess first, is the fact that going to church and growing, no strike that, finding my faith has truly been a life changing event. No, I'm not trying to say that I went to church and all the problems in my life were instantly solved, but at least now I don't feel so overwhelmed by the many issues in my life. God has helped open my eyes to know that 'yes, life is full of suffering and pain, but there is a purpose and a light (which just gets brighter and brighter) at the end of the tunnel'.

I don't want to go on too much, because in some ways I know that I am in sort of dating phase with my faith right now... when everything is new and nice... and a little scary. But what a profound change it has made on me. I have for so long put all Christians in a little box saying 'all Christians are like... (insert whatever you wish)', and I'm not like that therefore I could never be a Christian. Already I don't' know how I could have ever thought that. In fact just moments ago I found the Blogger profile of a fellow church member (who is currently going through Seminary), and found out that one of his favorite movie's is Fight Club... one of my all time favorites. Quick note - if I get any of the church terms incorrect (Rector, Seminary, etc.... give me a break, I'm new at this ;).

Which brings me to Father Rich.... I cannot thank God enough for bringing Father Rich into my life. It has been such a blessing to have someone who I can go to and ask questions of... or just talk to. He has also been one of the best so far at ripping apart that little box that I had built for so many years. I think the main reason for this is that I see so many things in him, that remind me of myself. ..... it's just strange how I could have been so blind to the truth for so many years, but I guess you can easily make yourself blind to things you don't want to see.

So I guess I'm right, if you just start typing you'll find something to talk about if you really want to.... I had a little more to talk about such as my new found interests in Podcasts, but it's getting late, and I guess that can wait until the next post.

Wow, Jesus rock!Kevin , you have no idea what God has instore for you.And you thought that Star Wars was cool. Just wait this new thing is better. Ok, and look up an entry on my blog called "Hit me as HARD as you can" . You might like it.

Fight Club may be a little on the edge but, the concept is great! I also loved Joe Dirt! Remeber, Jesus came for the sinners!
